BuzzSumo allows you to make changes to your plan at any time, including adjusting your plan level or the length of your term (month-to-month or annual).

Check out Buzzsumo’s pricing here for more information on the plans we offer and what’s included.

Below are a few details about how we handle payments and billing based on the changes you may make.

Changing your subscription term from monthly to annual

BuzzSumo will submit a charge to your card on file for the upcoming year, minus any prorated balance left on your existing subscription.

For example - if you've paid for a Content Creation Monthly plan ($199/month) and switch to a Content Creation Annual plan ($1908/year) halfway through your current month, you will be charged $1,808.50 ($1908 - credit of $99.50).

Please note: your new annual renewal date will be 12 months from the date you changed your subscription.

Changing your subscription term from annual to monthly

BuzzSumo will convert the balance remaining on your subscription into a credit on your account. We will then draw from this credit to cover monthly subscription payments until it has been used, at which point we will begin charging the card on file.

Please note: your new monthly renewal date will be on the same date every month from when you changed your subscription.

Upgrading your plan

BuzzSumo will immediately submit a prorated charge for the upgrade - your new features and limits will be available for use immediately.

Please note: we will only charge for the upgrade for the period of time remaining on your current subscription. Your renewal date will remain the same.

Downgrading your plan

BuzzSumo will convert any remaining balance on your subscription into a credit on your account. Any changes to your features and plan limits will take effect immediately.

We will then draw from this credit to cover monthly subscription payments until it has been used, at which point we will begin charging the card on file.
